WitchcraftI have to share...I just found such a fun site! In creating my time-travel magic, I've been researching everything from Tarot to runes, and at iFate.com you can do free readings in each. Every step provides a clear explanation and definitions. Be prepared to lose an hour doing random readings for yourself... <g> Added May 30th, 2008 by veronica

This is a pretty cool site. However for readings I just go to my sister. LOL She's been reading palms, tarot cards and doing astrological charts since she was 15. She's very good at what she does too. Although it is harder to read family she has come pretty darn close to pinpointing things in my life that were going to happen.
Wish I had heeded her warning about my first boyfriend. That would have saved me 4 years of grief! :-)

How fun to have a sister who does readings! I had my palm read when I was in India, and the man refused to tell me everything. I confess, it's freaked me out ever since....!
— veronica Mon, 11/17/2008 - 3:35pm
I do love it. She even has a name that she goes by Madame Lee. LOL! She still does the readings but not as frequently as before. At one point it was a part of her living. She also wrote an astrological column for a local paper in Delaware that has since folded.
LOL!! Don't let the reading freak you out. Sometimes you can get a whacko that does not care if the person on the end is affected by what they say. The thing with Tarot readings and palm readings is that your future is always changing. The readings are only about what is currently taking place in your life at present. It is always changing as you grow and change.
I certainly do not know what that was all about not telling you everything in your reading which sounds like a tactic to get you to come back perhaps to proffer money from you.
My sister told me once and only once that she did see something bad in a persons hand. It was a potential accident or death she could not tell which but it was serious enough for her to warn this person to watch himself concerning speed and vehicles. that much she knew. And she was adamant about it. She kept repeating it to him. What she did not know was that this person had just bought a motorcycle the week prior and was not a skilled rider. It's not as if she can look at the hand and truly see it as in visions. The way she explained it to me is that the lines of his hand (his lifeline if you will) had indicated a pattern of recklessness throughout his life. The pattern repeating itself becoming stronger in detail up to that current point in his life. And it pointed to something serious in the lines of a serious accident or possible death.
I am not meaning to scare you but she found out through a friend that the young man was in an accident a few weeks later. Luckily for him he was able to walk away with a broken leg and a few broken ribs. It was serious enough that the bike was totaled and he was lucky to walk away with his life. And while he doubted my sisters reading that night, he did take to heart the reading and I happy to say he is still with us. It not only scared him but it scared her as well. She stopped doing readings for some time after that.
I tried to make her see reason that there was a purpose to her being there that night to warn him. You can say that she was his guardian angel here on earth so to speak. So I am glad she was there to save him.

What a spooky story! And what a handy (ok, seriously, no pun intended) sister to have around. I'd be curious to do another reading someday... I bought a book when I was in India, but they seem to have different rules there. Like, they only read men's right hands and women's left. Or that's what the guy whom I talked to told me. Anyway, thanks for sharing an interesting story!

Hmmmm...should I? shouldn't I? oh, what the hey.....I was tickled to see an interest in things metaphysical! I've been a 'reader/teacher' for some years, mostly in online forums, when the spirit moves me (pun intended). Any questions I can answer I'd be happy to help. So you know, I don't use tools i.e., cards, runes etc :-x
Veronica.....have you ever felt you were channeling any of your stories? Most good writers do a wee bit if not a lot....just curious
— none Tue, 11/17/2009 - 6:52pm
That sounds very interesting Kiltie!

You know, Kiltie, I felt *very* connected to James' story in SWORD. I had a very vivid dream about meeting him, and kept having moments of serendipity that made me feel even closer to the story. (Like writing about that island with the monk, then discovering mid-way through the scene that it actually belonged to the Graham family...it gave me chills in a good way.)
— veronica Fri, 11/20/2009 - 9:41am
Veronica.....that's great! Feeling connected is usually soulspeak (intuition) allowing us a wee peek into the etherworld :) Personally, I've never found energy/spirit to be scary....all things are energy, doncha know.
I had a hissyfit yesterday! Amazon lost my book order....it turned up today, late, but at least it's here!!! I don't often have hissyfits but.....when i first saw some of the pics of Scotland on this site it was a WAKE UP call....hello, where you been?! Seems I'm 'called' to learn about Scotland, as I did Ireland (Isle of Man, mainly,) and i'm spending a lot of time online with Wik and others....now I get to read your books. Have no doubt I'll love em :)
Let James know you were aware, dreams are often how angels and spirits communicate with us. My Angel Guide's name is Angus....his choice....I love it !!!
— none Fri, 11/20/2009 - 7:48pm
Such a lovely thought, Kiltie. :) I'm glad your book order was sorted out, though I'm sorry to hear you had to endure a hissy!! I sure do hope you enjoy the books!!!
— veronica Sat, 11/21/2009 - 8:14am
Most wiccans have a mode of divination that they prefer - I cast runes, and my sister gives amazing tarot readings. I like to scry as well.
— pammerjo Sun, 11/22/2009 - 7:59am
Is it true that the first name you think of when you wake up is the name of your Spirit Guide? I have not thought of a name if it is true, or if I did, I guess I wasn't paying attention. PAM, if we ever meet in person, I owuld like to hear more about what you do. SOunds fascinating!
~Sarah~
— Sarah Hoss Sun, 11/22/2009 - 12:11pm
That's neat, Pam! I love the concept of Wicca, just have decided that I no longer have need of an organized religion. Spirituality is my choice over "religion". I was raised Catholic, can just hear the nuns now I can vouch for stinging knuckles :-x
With a candle and some burning white sage it's easy for me to do self-hypnosis. When I try meditation it usually puts me to sleep...sigh...not very workable :( I'd love to do tarot cept I end up playing "52 pickup", or however many cards in the deck! Finally realized that tools do not work well for me so Angus gets a workout!!!
— none Sun, 11/22/2009 - 12:17pm
Pam, you never cease to amaze me. I had no idea...first chainmail and now this. Too cool. And, Kiltie, as for meditation, you and me both. It's never worked for me either...sigh.
— veronica Tue, 11/24/2009 - 11:52am
Kiltie, how would you give a reading over the computer?
~Sarah~
— Sarah Hoss Wed, 11/25/2009 - 3:54am
Sarah, energy is energy is energy :) Everything in creation consists of energy, it's a matter of intensity. This earth plane is dense compared to the energy of angelic/spiritual realms. The function of one who 'reads' is to connect with that energy and, hopefully, interpret what comes correctly. It's safe to say that not everything one interprets is in truth....there are no guarantees. I always advise my clients that no matter what I or anyone may tell them, they must screen the information through their own inner filter. To take what feels right for them and leave the rest. We can all change tomorrow by the choices we make today.
The computer is simply another 'tool' to be used for our benefit :)
— none Wed, 11/25/2009 - 7:05am
Laughing at Pam and Veronica! Had to scroll back and reread chainmail.....still giggling :)
— none Wed, 11/25/2009 - 7:08am
Kiltie you have NO IDEA on the chainmail Pam will be making chainmail thongs for us. Look for yours in the mail. LOL!! Watch out Victoria Secret!
My sister using Tarot mostly, she still reads the lines of the palm but I believe she prefers tarot. She also scries too. I have used tarot on occasion. :-)
Kiltie you and I are on the same page about Organized religion. For me I was lucky to grow up in a house where Religion was not forced on us.My sister and I love all things Metaphysical. Even at a very young age we always discussed series topics such as Reincarnation. Even time travel.
I do find all Religions fascinating. I went through a Wicca phase for awhile but I never wanted to be limited in an idea of thought.
You know V, I have said before the scenes with Magda and the Monk are some of my favorites in the book with James. You had my brain going around with all kinds of theories.
See like minded ladies always gravitate to each other. !

— bttrfly29 Wed, 11/25/2009 - 11:14am
Well, I won't say that religion was forced on me. My parents quit drinking and chose to go to church in the help to get sober. I was young, so I did go with them. I go once in ahiwle now. I do believe in the Lord and pray but I don't like it when people feel the need to force it on others. I know what it says in the Bible about attending church etc, but I also believe that the Lord knows how I feel and just because I do not go to church every Sunday doesn't mean I won't go to heaven.
~Sarah~
— Sarah Hoss Wed, 11/25/2009 - 12:31pm
Bingo, Sarah! Religion gave me a solid foundation and then I found my way to other things. I realize it's necessary and good for many, just no longer for me :-x
— none Wed, 11/25/2009 - 6:22pm
Hmmm..I'm still practicing Wicca but find myself leaning more toward atheism as I age. As a devout feminist, I was never able to tolerate the patriarchal system of mainstream religion and found Wicca in my 20s. It seemed to have the spiritual and ritualistic outlets I was looking for and I embraced the tenets with gusto. It was especially helpful when I was getting sober, 17 years ago. I have however, grown since then, and feel strongly that organized religion accounts for a large percent of the world's suffering, and I'm really beginning to let go belief in any kind of omniscient presence, even Goddess.
When I need a higher power, I look to nature, as it is so much bigger than anything we humans could dream up, if we'd only stop and look. Can you stop a river from flowing, waves from rolling, wind from blowing? Who or what can?? nothing. Nature happens and it's awesome in ALL it's forms. Could prayer keep my father from dying? no. he had cancer and the cancer was much bigger than my feeble offerings. Biology won.
All of this conflicts wildly with my belief in the after-life, which I have yet to resolve. I'm deeply interested in the paranormal, believe my dad comes to see me often, and love the idea that ghosts roams the battlements of ancient scottish ruins.
I've recently been reading books on Atheism, and the more I read, the more turned on I am by a world where humans exist solely by their own volition, intuition and will to survive, and that these account for our development of societal rules, not morals passed down in some old tome. If I look around the world today, I can see that if there ever was a loving presence overseeing things, it washed it's hands of us a long, long time ago.
— pammerjo Thu, 11/26/2009 - 7:33am
I can understand your point of view, Pam.....yet I do believe in a Creator, one who gives us free will. That surely causes much of the world's problems. Yet I believe that we are evolving, that there are better days to come. While many see 2012 as an end-to-end all things, I do not....I feel strongly that it is an end to the here-and-now and a new beginning for tomorrow :)
I resolved any questions about an afterlife when my husband died at the age of 29 and for the next year stayed with us, me and my small son, to ensure I had my feet firmly on the ground even if my head was in the clouds :) Since then I've become acquainted with many 'spirits', energies of the souls, as it were. Ghosts....I'm not acquainted with, lol....spirits, very much so. Afterall, spirit/soul IS energy.
Out of curiosity, how do you feel about Angels? :)
— none Thu, 11/26/2009 - 8:52am
Oh Marti, I can't imagine losing a husband so young. I can't imagine what that must've been like for you. The courage and strength you'd have had to muster...no wonder the experience opened another sense in you.
A man read my palm when I lived in India. We were at a party, and he was reading everyone's palms. He got to mine, though, and refused to tell me what he saw. It freaked me out. Freaks me to this day. :|
— veronica Thu, 11/26/2009 - 10:18am
Good grief! If ever you come across another such as that man, run....don't walk!! That action, or non-action, is totally unprofessional! I suspect that rather than what he saw, he actually 'saw' nothing and didn't know how to deal with it. It's a shame it left a negative impression. Any time you have any questions, I'd be glad to get some answers for you.
We do what we must, when we must :)
— none Thu, 11/26/2009 - 5:25pm
I also believe in God, I like to think there is someone I can talk to if I need it. Whether he answers me or not, I like to know I can still talk. A parent doesn't give her child everything, so I doubt the Lord would do so also.
I had my palm read once and a local fair. I had two kids at the time. She told me one would be a teacher the other a doctor. I rakced it up thinking that she wasn't going to tell me one of my kids would pump gas all of his life. It was all she told me. I think it would be neat to have it done right, but wouldn't want to hear anything negative. I am a huge worry wort. I do not believe the world will end in 2012.
~Sarah~
— Sarah Hoss Fri, 11/27/2009 - 9:00pm
"A parent doesn't give her child everything, so I doubt the Lord would do so also." What a lovely and wise metaphor, Sarah! You really do have the ancient blood running in you. :)
— veronica Sat, 11/28/2009 - 11:40am
Sarah, There are ways of presenting some negative info in a positive manner...and there are times when NO negative info is the best thing, all depends on the person and the information.
I run a disclaimer before my readings to remind people that I'm not a fortune teller and what I receive is NOT written in stone.
We all get to make choices, all the time, and can change things in the blink of an eye. Be careful what you choose :)
My favorite quote....we're spiritual beings having a human experience...anonymous, so far. Keep in mind, the soul remembers what the mind forgets and that's a good thing or we'd all be in the looney bin :)
I have no doubt, none.....come 2012 the world will change, it will not end. The change will be very positive :)
— none Sat, 11/28/2009 - 3:38pm
Thank you Veronica, that was sweet to say! Love the quote Kiltie and your thoughts on 2012!

— Sarah Hoss Sun, 11/29/2009 - 6:00am
I agree Kiltie, I too like the metaphysical world and I am a firm believer in the fact that whatever religion a person is, the metaphysical is complimentary to that religion. I do not see that the two cannot possibly be compatible. I read Tarot, Runes, Tea Leaves and am interested in many others, I do not say that I do it well, I read to the best of my ability, provided I'm in the right headspace, i.e. emotionally sound. I love to be around people who are like minded too. Mainly because there is no judgement and I grew up with a ton of it. I chose to go to Sunday School and Church and grew up in the Fellowship of St Lukes Anglican Church in Woy Woy, which I loved. Now I have gravitated towards other thinking. :)

As much as i dislike saying it, while parochial school offered a sound education, it stopped short of the spiritual...actually got stuck in whatever 'man' proclaimed at the time. It was much later that I began to feel brainwashed, what a shock.....opened the door for me to walk through and discover whatever else there is out there for me to learn, and there is an unbelievable amount of information :)
Everytime I say/think 'i'm not doing this again' I get a psychic slap side the head and a very strong message....HAHA that's what YOU think!" Seems Angus knows more than I do.....snicker
— none Sun, 11/29/2009 - 1:39pm
I always tell my clients that they can change the reading of the cards simply by changing their thinking. That is what I was taught when I did the Tarot course. I think it eases people's minds, I know it eased mine.

I think it is great that we can discuss these things and have different views and still be polite and respectful with each other. I am wondering if we should change the subject? Veronica, do you mind having people discuss politics and religion on your sight? I think we have gotten off the beaten path again. ;)

— Sarah Hoss Mon, 11/30/2009 - 4:09am
Oh my....mea culpa....i never realized we were off track! I find so much spiritual energy in Victoria's writing that it never dawned on me. I do apologize!
— none Mon, 11/30/2009 - 10:12pm
Oh I don't mind the religion talk, Sarah. As long as I can stand on the sidelines. ;) Seriously though, as you say, it's great how everyone can weigh in with their unique world view. I suppose the title of the Forum is Witchcraft, after all--that right there opens things up a bit. Politics, though...I'm hands-off where that's concerned. LOL!
