Shameless questionOkay, ladies. If you'd *asked* me, I'd have said that R-Patz/Edward is the hotter of these two. But *seeing* them side-by-side, I have got to vote for age before beauty. Same goes for character: I think the more tortured and threatening alpha male (i.e. Bill Compton) is ultimately the hotter one.
Gauntlet thrown! What say you? Who's hotter? And which is the hotter character? Added July 3rd, 2009 by veronica

p.s. I have a sneaking suspicion who *your* choice is gonna be, Pam! :)

heh. As I'm the one (I think) who pointed him out....)
oh yeah. Bring on that tortured, moody yet charming, old world vamp.
— pammerjo Fri, 07/03/2009 - 5:51pm
Oh yes you did indeed! And I thank you for it. =)
— veronica Fri, 07/03/2009 - 9:27pm
I love the difference between Edwards sweet nature and then how he can go all protective and mean in an instance! Myabe it's because I'm younger, but I like Robert P. Though, I wouldn't kick either one of them out of my bed for eating crackers!!!!

lololol. i love that expression. ok - you have to put that in the book. Marlena has to mutter it and Alex looks at her like she's turned green. Then she has to explain what it means. that would make a very sweet scene.
— pammerjo Sat, 07/04/2009 - 9:14am
Too cute, OK I will! I have a bag full of those little sayings! You should hear my mother!

I love how inspiration comes to me. How many times, you two, have you gone to bed, just settled in and had to get out again because something came to you? I need to get a little table on my side to keep a tablet by.
I had just settled in and poof! There came the idea for the "crakcers in my bed" quote. So I jumped up and wrote it down!I think it will work!

— Sarah Hoss Tue, 07/07/2009 - 4:47am
Oh totally. I now keep a pad and booklight by my bed. Though usually it happens to me at, like, 4 am. If I write it down, I can go back to sleep. Otherwise, I think must not forget, must not forget...

I know. I was at one of my son's baseball games one day. All of a sudden I had an idea nad I couldn't do anything with it. I wasn't very attentive the rest of the game.

Hmmm like comparing Apples to Oranges for me. LOL Both are tortured but for very different reasons. Bill lost his family, his choice taken from him. Edward while dying did at least choose his fate however he never had the chance to have a family.....
I honestly could not choose. I would have to go on personality. At the present moment the HBO show is giving Bill Compton a stronger personality while in the books I feel that I want Charlaine to explore him more (Even though Eric is my favorite character).
As for Edward, no man could be more emotional! And sensitive and caring and kind BUT I do feel he is sometimes unrealistic.
I think a merging of the men would be good. The best of both worlds. Civil war era charm mixed with Edwardian values. So what should I call him?
Billward? Edwill? Help me out ladies! LOL

— bttrfly29 Fri, 07/10/2009 - 7:31am
LOL. I'll definitely agree, Edward certainly has a certain charm about him. Interesting that both characters were so defined by war: Bill went to war and was scarred by it, while Edward *wanted* to go fight in WW1, but never did. (That's right, isn't it?)
— veronica Sat, 07/11/2009 - 5:07pm
Yes you are correct in both! Illness took Edward before that happened.
So more guilty pleasures! Is anyone going to watch The Vampire Diaries this fall on the CW?
Wasn't this a book series? It sounds so familiar.

OH THANK YOU GUYS!!! It's so good to be 29 again!
I swear I have been having a birthday week! I have received gifts from co-workers which I never expected! as well as gifts from family and friends. It was a pleasant surprise though with my co-workers.
Anyhoo , I was trying to get off from work to come down to see you V as a birthday present to myself. LOL
I was going to have you sign my books. But unfortunately my timing sucked and I could not get the time off.
Oh Well, next July 13th if you are in DC area or even better in the Philly area I can get my books signed. LOL

Unfortunately, new series won't be out by next summer (release date is Sept. 2010). Though I will have LORD out, plus an anthology with Janet Chapman and Sandra Hill! (April 2010.)
— veronica Thu, 07/23/2009 - 8:19am
Oooo an anthology! WHOO-HOO!!! Okay so I could get all of my books signed except for the new series. I can be patient. I can wait again. LOL. You are just full of surprises. I didn't know you had an anthology coming out too.
~Lizzie
— bttrfly29 Thu, 07/23/2009 - 8:50am
Yup, a novella in a book with three other authors (including Sandra Hill and Janet Chapman!) I'm very excited about it. Talk about anguished heroes... That's all I'm sayin'. :)

Oh Lizzie, if you love highlanders ... oh man ... Janet's highlanders warriors from the twelfth century and land in our time. Just a little tease. Oh did I mention they are close to seven feet tall and so are their swords!!! LOL :)

So tell me V., with an anthology, do you all meet together to discuss what stories go in the anthology or does the publisher just say she is putting stories together of certain writers and you will be one of them? Have you answered this before?? If so, sorry. :o
Gayle
— Gayle Lee Tue, 12/22/2009 - 1:18am
That is a very good question!
~Sarah~
— Sarah Hoss Tue, 12/22/2009 - 5:50am
oops, so sorry Gayle, for the late reply!!! I've been really immersed in this latest work-in-progress, and that, combined with the holiday season, has had me a bit distracted. To answer your question, it's the latter. My editor contacted my agent to ask her if I wanted to write a novella for an anthology including Janet Chapman and Sandra Hill. I, of course, jumped at the opportunity! The only criteria was that it be time travel. Although this is usually how an anthology comes together, other authors have approached it differently. IT HAPPENED ONE NIGHT, with stories by
Stephanie Laurens, Mary Balogh, Jacquie D'alessandro, and Candice Hern, came to be when a few of the authors were hanging out, dishing, and eventually the idea came up to all write a different story around the same premise (a lady gets stranded at an inn for a night). It obviously helped that the authors involved are such heavy-hitters. :)
— veronica Sat, 12/26/2009 - 11:39pm
Thanks for answering, that is very interesting. I wonder how they come about picking which authors to put together. The book you mentioned above, I hate to say it, but I have not heard of any of those authors. But I have heard of the two you are paired with.
~Sarah~
— Sarah Hoss Sun, 12/27/2009 - 7:20am
Those others are Regency authors, and all lovely writers. As for how they put the list together, I have no idea. But it's a great opportunity for a small-time person like me to get in the hands of such a huge readership. I was thrilled...
— veronica Mon, 12/28/2009 - 10:10am
It is a good idea. I think it is neat to see the different writing style together. Congratulations!
~Sarah~
— Sarah Hoss Mon, 12/28/2009 - 11:36am
Yes, congratulations on the anthology and thank you for answering that question!!

Thanks! Anytime--I'm happy to help! :)
— veronica Sat, 01/02/2010 - 1:32pm
WOW! I just finished reading an Anthology with Sherrilyn Kenyon, JR Ward and the other authors I did not know but now will be looking to pick them up. Of course the premise is supernatural so that made sense to put them together but I never knew what went into it. Good to know. Sometimes you wish you had a DVD to go with the book. LOL Like Monica says a behind the scenes for your book.
