Master of the Highlands: What really happened?

Ewen Cameron of Lochiel, the Seventeenth Chief of his clan, also known
as Ewen Dubh M'Ian V'Allan, Ewen the Black, and “Ulysses of the
Highlands,” is a well-known figure in Scottish history.

Ewen was a famously noble, loyal, and gracious leader whose great skill
and imposing size also made him a fearsome enemy. His well-told lore is
recounted in songs and poems, including Sir Walter Scott's Lady of the Lake.
