Master of the Highlands: Chapter 4
A staunch supporter of Oliver Cromwell who later sided with the Parliamentarians in the British Civil War. In an effort to divide the Highlands, Monk truly did try to bribe Ewen with offers of money, lands, and erasure of old debts. Ewen stood firm, much as I portrayed him. In this chapter, we see the prologue to the Battle of Achdalieu, which I recreate later in the book. In general, many of my details about Monk are spot-on, including the fact that his father was once a Royalist. There are more Monk fun facts to be found later in the book -- especially in the Epilogue!
