It truly is warm enough for swimming!  The The Breadalbane/Perthshire tourist web site
claims:  "The prevailing winds blow from the south west here and it
traps warm surface water on Loch Tay in a shallow bay at the east end.
The water is no more than a couple of yards deep for a long way out. As
a result the water can be quite warm."
