holiday season

Thanks, everyone, for keeping these Forums rocking while I'm away!!!  It quite literally warms my heart to tuck in here and find such fun, funny chatter.  I've been laying low...my son was out all last week with *another* flu (he came home from school last Monday all happy, took a nap, and when he woke up his temp was 103.7!).  I finally succumbed too, though it's been the cough that's been killing me.  Hideous, hideous cough.  The upside is, I swear my belly hasn't been this toned since before the kids were born.  LOL.

Anyway, I'm back in action and am desperately trying to take it slow and balanced this season.  I'd sworn all year that *this* would be the year I take it easy, and bake cookies, and make ornaments with the kids, etc., and yet I already find myself having moments of grinchy worker mommy.  (You know, the old, 'mommy needs just one more hour of work so please play quietly.')  *sigh*

How about you all?  What's your holiday season looking like?  Are you managing to take it easy and enjoy the true spirit of the season?

I am sorry that sickness has run rampant in your home. Let's hope it stays away for a long time! We have had some but only minor fever with aches that only lasts 12 hours or less. I'll take that any day!.
I got a Mocrosoft word program downloaded and have started writing book 2. Oh how I wish I had had this prgram with the other book. I did get book one converted though!
My season is going ok. I was having selfish, non true spirit moments where I was sad because the kids won't get as much for Christmas since I am not working. But with all the things going on with Mom, I got a slap up side the head and am putting things in prespective.
I want to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New year! May your season be blessed!

The forums are sooo quiet this time of year!

ohmygosh, Sarah, I cannot believe I missed this post! You have got to slap *me* upside the head when I miss something like this. Sigh. Years from now, the kids won't remember what was under the tree. They'll remember sitting down at the table with mom and dad and the relatives, the yummy treats I just know you've been baking, and laughing and smiling with your family. Hope your Christmas was fabulous, and that you have a wonderful New Year!!

Don't worry about it. I totally understand. It isn't like you don't have your own things going on. We have been having a great time since Christmas break began. I am gearing up to get my friends 2 boys today. I will keep them until Wednesday and then on Wednesday when they go back, they take my three until Sat. This is the third year we have exchanged kids. (They live an hour away from us)The kids have a ball and surprisingly get along well for spending a week together.
I hope the season greetings are are ebing kind to you and your family! Keep well!

Sarah, that's brilliant!!! I need to convince one of my friends to do that sort of trade. Such genius! Have fun with the kids this week!

LOL, It is nice to have the peace and quiet, alone time with Andy and a moment to myself. That's why we like it so much. The kids love hanging out with each other, though Lakin is the only girl. Thanks, I will enjoy myself!
