What does it translate into? I like it alot!

~Sarah~

*cough* niiice V... :-)

Lily's Destiny. =) I'm loving these covers. I didn't know this one was even out yet, and then got fan mail from Brazil! Too fun...

That is cool!

~Sarah~

I just want to know when can we have these kinds of covers?? LOL!
you know my obsession with romance cover models! LOL!

~Lizzie

(Sarah passes Lizzie a napkin) You're drooling sweetie!

~Sarah~

I hope it isn't silly to report that I have often wondered what my cover would look like. I have pictured different scenarios and I love them all!

~Sarah~

LOL!!! You know, seeing the cover for the first time is one of my FAVORITE parts of this job. Always such a thrill!!!

Well that answers my question. I always wondered do you get to see the cover before they decide to release your book?

Sarah, I need a blanket my drooling poureth over (is that even a word??? seriously!)

~Lizzie

Why can't it be a word? My cup runeth over!

~Sarah~

Yup, I get to see it. I get what's called "cover approval," which means I can stomp my foot down and say no way--which I would NEVER do. The publisher knows so much more than I do about what sells. Usually my interaction has been limited to small things, like recommending a tartan color, or for SWORD, I pointed them to a picture of Graham's real sword. Finally, for LORD, it was my idea to do a back shot! =D The only thing I ever pushed back on was my original cover for MASTER. In the first version, the model had a little scruff of facial hair under his bottom lip! I was like, my seventeenth-century laird *does not* have a soul patch--LOL!!!

LMAO!!!! a soul patch too hilarious! I can see it now your character is from the 18th century and he has a buzz cut from the 60's. One of these do not not belong together! LOL.

~Lizzie

I have to say I have never heard of it called a soul patch! Like the term though. Obviously you input on the book covers was great!

~Sarah~

I don't understand the soul patch. I mean it just looks like you were too lazy to get that spot under your lip. and if you don't shape it right it looks like a ball of fur under the lip. Just shave it all off!

~Lizzie

I agree!!!! I don't know that I am too keen on a soul patch. Although I certainly don't mind a goatee!! They are sooo cute!! It is nice that they give you the courtesy of first acceptance or refusal for your covers. LOL Gayle

I know!! And yeah, goatees are cute! Though for some reason facial hair is generally taboo in romances. Hmph.

Really? I wonder why?

~Sarah~

I have no idea. Especially since it's period-appropriate in many cases. Seems like a missed opportunity to me. On a related note, here's a fun fact from a word nerd. From the Online Etymology Dictionary: "Dutch slang has a useful noun, de befborstel, to refer to the mustache specifically as a tool for stimulating the clitoris; probably from beffen 'to stimulate the clitoris with the tongue.'" :)

LOL, the things you can learn in here! Too funny. I find that very interesting, thanks for sharing!

~Sarah~

Funny. A lot of people had facial hair in those days. Just think of James's moustache and "soul patch" (love that word!)

Ne oublie!

BTW: in Germany these covers are generic for this kind of book. Always a muscular male with deranged clothes, holding a lady in splendid robes. Irrespective of author and publisher. I wonder how many combinations (hair colour, kilt/plaid, castle/hill/seascape, dress colour) are possible. But I wonder, if they manage to have a red-haired lady for the title of "Sword".

Ne oublie!

You wonder why they would put the man in deranged clothes when he held a title?

~Sarah~

I wonder, what they pin the plaid-brooch to, when they don't wear a shirt... *Ouch!*
I don't think a title would keep me from tearing my shirt on occasions...
As long as my kilt doesn't get deranged...

Ne oublie!

LOL, I guess if a very eager beautiful woman was looking starry eyed up at you with her mounds of joy about to burst from her dress..... yah, a man might tear at this shirt too! Hee hee!

~Sarah~

ROFL....you guys keep me in stitches!

HA!!!! Y'all are too much. I must try to figure out how to incorporate the phrase "deranged clothing" into my daily vocabulary.

It is a good one!

~Sarah~

"...her eyes wide with shock, Dulcibella looked up at Seamus. 'Though hast deranged my garments!'..."

Ne oublie!

Sorr, should be "thou"

LMAO!!! Omg Chris you are hilarious! So true though. Mmmm good thoughts on the facial hair part. Must incorporate in my own stories! LOL!!!

~Lizzie

HA!! Dulcibella and Seamus...and a love for the ages.

LOL oh Chris too much, too much!

~Lizzie

Swoon!! I love the cover V. LOL ... Chris you crack me up as much as these ladies do!!! LOL Sorry, I can't stop laughing. LOL
